Arizona is located in southwestern USA just east of California and just north of the Mexican Border. It is most famous for the Grand Canyon, which is cut out by the Colorado River and acknowledged as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The south rim visitor's center is accessible via a one-and-half hour drive from Flagstaff. Williams town offers many excursions to the canyon and lies on a surviving piece of historic old Route 66 about 30 miles west of Flagstaff.

Arizona also has many other wonderful attractions and a wide variety of climates. It also offers mountains, lakes, forests (Arizona is home to this country's largest Ponderosa Pine Forest), fishing, golfing, hiking, hunting, boating, river-rafting, camping, jeep touring and horseback riding.

Arizona is well known for its golf courses, which is one of the main reasons why Arizona is a very popular vacation attraction. The Wildfire Gold Club, Desert and Stadium are popular golf course names.

Home to the largest Indian reservations in the USA, Arizona exhibits a colorful Native American (Indian) flavor blended with a powerful Spanish heritage. Visit the Four Corners region, home to Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations in the northeastern part of the state which boasts natural wonders such as the Petrified Forest, the Painted Desert, and Monument Valley.

Phoenix is the capital city of Arizona, with a population of over 4 million. Named after a legendary bird and home to many cosmopolitan activities and has numerous museums, theaters, and performing arts events including the Phoenix Symphony, Phoenix is built atop the ancient Hohokam civilization and is located in south central Arizona, roughly 120 miles northwest of Tucson. It is very popular for its great heat as well as the many attractions that surround the Greater Phoenix area. Tucson in Southern Arizona features a number of cultural landmarks as well as skiing at Mount Lemmon.

Prescott National Forest can be found North of Phoenix in Central Arizona. The forests become desert in the west in an area known as the West Coast of Arizona, due to the Colorado River, which makes up much of the border with California and Nevada. Sedona, famous for its beautiful rock formations and its sacred "vortexes", is situated two hours north of Phoenix, in the center of the Arizona.

You will find the original London Bridge in Arizona. Moved here from England in 1970, it is the main attraction in Lake Havasu City, located on one of Arizona's many large man-made lakes. Lake Havasu is in the northwest corner of the state on the Colorado River.

Visit the campus of Arizona State University and see the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the United State's most famous architects.
