North London Backpackers Hostel has recently changed ownership, and has been extensively refurbished. We have a variety of warm function rooms cleaned daily. Accommodation includes dorms, singles, twins and a quad. All beds come with a duvet and pillow and clean bed linen is provided on arrival. We have a laundry with washer and dryer, with an ironing board and iron for guest use. There is 24 hr internet access available. The Hostel has 2 bathrooms with hot water 24 hours a day.
We also have full cooking and food storage facilities. Space is provided for you to store both refrigerated and dry goods. There are also a variety of places to eat out within easy walking distance.
We now offer 500 satellite channels, as well as Sky TV. There are two TV lounges where you can relax and watch British channels, satellite channels as well as those in German, Italian and Dutch. A collection of magazines, books, newspapers and board games can be found in the TV lounge.
DIRECTIONS
From Heathrow airport, take the Piccadilly underground line to Kings Cross
station. At Kings Cross change onto the Northern line, where you
take the northbound underground train towards Edgware. Once at Hendon Central, exit the station and
turn left, walking towards the corner where the Lloyds TSB bank is. You
should be able to see our large yellow sign around 30 meters up the street
on the right hand side.
From Gatwick airport take the Thameslink train to Hendon station (overground, not underground
metro ) which will take you through central London.
Once at Hendon station you can take the 83 bus to Hendon Central, getting
off at Queens road, about 50 meters from North London Backpackers. Otherwise, you can walk,
turning left from the station, you should walk up Station road and take the second
right, Vivian avenue, which will take you directly into Hendon Central after
approx. a 5 minute walk. You will then be able to see the underground station
and Lloyds bank.
Alternatively, you can take the Gatwick Express to Victoria
bus station. You then need to get on the Victoria underground and take the
northbound train to Kings Cross underground station.
