Our client is in the banking sector and are looking to bring into the company a person to head up the Group Strategy team. Responsible for addressing major themes of the Group strategic agenda, it drives strategy development and supports the operationalization. It identifies and directs key strategic initiatives that are cross-divisional and/or divisional/regional in nature (jointly with business division/regional strategy teams) while ensuring full alignment with Group priorities. In addition, Group Strategy provides perspectives on general strategic topics (e.g. competitive intelligence, macro trends, profit pools, benchmarking, etc.).As a Head of the Group Strategy team/ Senior Strategy Executive, you will play a key role in the implementation of the company's business strategy and in addressing topics of group-wide strategic importance. In this exciting environment, your main tasks and responsibilities are as follows: • Lead, manage and oversee dedicated strategy development specialists, analysts and support staff • Working with Business Divisions and Regions to drive their strategy development and strategy execution • Leading specific projects in close cooperation with internal business partners from areas across the bank • Gather information and conduct analysis that will support the development of strategy for the Group • Develop analysis and financial models to support business opportunity and attractiveness assessments • Synthesize findings and derive recommendations for Senior Executives. • Conduct meetings with internal business partners, management and/or clients; run project workshops & meetings. The Corporate Development (CD) function was created in 2009 to act as “thought partner” to the Company's senior management in strategy development and key strategic issues, run strategic projects and manage mergers and acquisitions (M&A) topics for the Group. | |

| Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | Demonstrated exceptional performance in a Senior leadership role within the company along the following dimensions: o Exceptional leadership, people management and senior executive influencing skills o Strong analytical, problem solving and synthesizing skills o Entrepreneurial thinking and spirit o Team spirit, flexible personality, ability to cope with pressure o Very good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills o Excellent work ethics, willingness to go the extra mile o Self-driven, energetic personality o Understanding of strategy development and execution (in financial services or from any other role involved in strategic management, e.g. from dealing with institutional clients) o Good financial industry knowledge o Fluency in English (written and verbal) |
