In 2000 Mike & Stacy Gauthier, president and vice president, husband and wife, started up Gauthier Biomedical Inc (GBI). Both having degrees in biomedical engineering from Marquette University they jumped head first into the surgical instrumentation industry.With a growing family and a new company, the Gauthier’s opened up shop just north of Milwaukee along Brown Deer Road. As the company grew so did the need for space. GBI moved up to Grafton, WI and then opened a second location in Franklin, WI. Several years and a few building expansions later the Gauthier’s are now consolidating the two facilities into a state of the art 80,000 sq foot head quarters located in Grafton, WI; as of July 2012, the consolidation has been completed and all employees are working in a state-of-the-art facility. The company started off doing small custom work for medical OEM, but 12 years later with close to 75 employees and a growing capacity, Gauthier Biomedical continues to give their customers innovative, high quality instrumentation on a larger scale. Gauthier and company have been winners of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (2005-2007), Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Nominee (2007), Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist (2009), and the Marquette University Young Alumni of the year (2010) . Today Gauthier Biomedical's gold standard instrumentation is expanding across the globe while the company continues to be an active contributor in the Grafton community.
