 My client who is a large Finance bank based in Malta is currently looking to recruit a Head of Risk to be based in Malta.Responsibilities/ Duties: • Assess and monitor credit, market, liquidity and reputational risks attached to the banks activities and those of its subsidiaries • Assist in the design and implementation of an overall risk management process for the Group • Co-ordinate and organize appropriate risk management reporting • Assess, monitor and control risks falling under the direct responsibility to avoid credit losses for the Group and maintain an adequate risk/reward profile for the business of the group. • Manage the process of identifying and assessing the particular risks affecting the business that fall under his/her direct responsibility • Dissemination of credit-sensitive information across the group • Analysis and asses credit risk (country, corporate and bank) for the clients and subsidiaries • Credit evaluation of business enquiries from various marketing desks • Review and control over the Group’s liquidity position • Manage team (monitoring, reporting of limits and systems) • Manage relationship with rating agencies | |

| Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | • Solid experience working within a Senior Risk position previously • Good in-depth knowledge of risk management and preferably experience within exposure to emerging markets • Ability to source information and select relevant facts • Experience in influencing Senior Management and ensuring delivery and maintenance of strong risk culture across the group would be essential • Strong understanding of credit, market, liquidity and reputational risks, including but not limited to pertinent Basel pronouncements on credit, market and capital adequacy requirements • Have a commercial acumen to identify and develop opportunities in the risk Market • Have excellent management skills as this role will be leading a team of 8 people • Ability to manage teams from a diverse cultural background • personal organisation and planning skills • Analysis, judgment and excellent intuition • Ability to produce synthetic and objective reports internally/externally |
