We are currently seeking a Director of Health Economics to join our European Health Economics & Outcomes Research team based in Stockholm in Sweden or in Munich Germany. As The Director you will be involved in all aspects of research activities contracted OptumInsight (Innovus), as appropriate. This includes planning and oversight of economic/outcomes evaluations in health care research, training, mentoring and managing staff, and business development. This position will also be responsible for building a new team in Germany while also maintaining an up-to-date awareness of methodological trends in pharmaceutical research and development, reimbursement requirements, and health policy research. In addition to the information above the key responsibilities are as follows: Adopting a leading role in business development activities. Preparing project proposals, formulating study budgets and project timelines, attending preliminary and follow up meetings with customers. Accountable for recruitment/selection of new hires, performance management, training, and mentoring. Establish and maintain strong relationships/profiles with customers, academic advisor/consultants and other relevant industry organizations. Responsible for managing revenue, expenses and forecasts of department. Responsible for developing and adhering to policies and procedures. Includes collaboration and communication with other departments, and other global offices, on matters relating to project staffing/hires, business development and strategic initiatives. Acquire information about new techniques/methods and trends in health research through published literature, networking, professional meetings and participation on professional committees. Develop and ensure training to Optum Insight Health Economics & Outcome Research staff on new trends and leading techniques/methods and highlight same to customers through newsletters, capabilities presentations and publications. | Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | · Post graduate degree in related field and a minimum proven track record of relevant work experience, or PhD and relevant work experience. · Previous exposure to managing an HEOR team. Excellent verbal/written communication skills and an established ability to work both independently and in a team environment - comfortable in communicating complex statistical issues to both experts and laymen. Advanced organizational, project management, interpretive and innovative thinking skills. Proficiency in planning and motivating others. Prior exposure in business development and project completion of health economics studies beneficial. |
