Our client is searching for a Head of Software Development to report to the CTO and work closely with PMO to ensure that the projects are completed on time and to quality and will spend time working with the business owners on planning and preparing for new projects that will soon be consuming the development team.

Job responsibilities:

With the help of the project managers, the development manager intertwines the activities of multiple projects to improve the efficiency of the team. This role is extremely deep – it requires the individual to operate at a high level, and also be able and willing to be hand on, working on development projects. You will need to manage, mentor and develop the software development team and there will be travel required to Leeds, Tel Aviv and other locations as required.

Salary based on experience plus relocation package.

Skills / Industry Qualifications Required:

 A passion for agile software development, test driven development and continuous integration
 Experience in a similar role, specifically Internet based businesses from Betting and Gaming, Retail, Banking and/or IT Consultancy.
 Experience of mobile application development – Apple, Android…
 Extensive experience in a software design and development role using Java, JEE and Oracle.
 Significant knowledge of Project methodologies such as RUP, Agile, XP, Scrum
 Leadership skills to manage, mentor and develop the software development team.
 Willingness and ability to travel
 A thorough understanding of architectural design principles
 Proven track record and ability in leading technical staff, using wide-ranging skills (including planning, organising and interpersonal skills);
 Must be willing to operate at both a high level and be hands on.mplo
