The role holder works collaboratively with Business Systems colleagues to improve services and look for ways to automate wherever possible. Specific responsibilities Delivery of timely high quality environments in line with architectural standards and project delivery requirements. Deliver automation of environment management and application deployment tasks wherever possible Work within OLA and SLA targets set for the team Deployment and configuration of new software application releases using existing processes and updating to automated processes. Automate Server builds and implementation of new virtual and physical infrastructure and ensuring they meet the Standard build requirements. Plan, deliver and manage appropriate test environments for all supported services and projects in line with programme milestone plans. Provide incident resolution for Environments and work closely with architecture to ensure test environments are fit for purpose. Provide input to trend analysis on the quality and availability of the managed environments. Work closely with Project Managers and the Team to delegate tasks efficiently. Ensure understanding of business and technical requirements to prioritise tasks effectively. Works closely with the customer to understand their needs to ensure successful delivery managing service expectations and requirements. Proactively coordinate with all colleagues to deliver a continuous deployment/integration service. Keep up to date with company and industry standards. Ensure all activities operate within IT Security and compliance standards. Provide regular updates to key stakeholders on key project tasks and incidents. Lead a team in delivering high-quality environment management capabilities. Forge strong relationships with BS colleagues and key stakeholders in the business. Effectively manage 3rd party suppliers. Provide line management for direct reports. | |

| Skills / Industry Qualifications Required: | Essential skills/attributes Experience in leading a team of technical staff. Relevant hands on technical skills in particular in UNIX/Linux, Apache and Java application platforms. An excellent working knowledge of IT systems environments i.e. operating systems, networking, applications, platforms and databases. An understanding of project and service delivery processes and development and testing methodologies and Change and Release managements practices. Highly focused on providing service with strong communication skills. Strong customer focus establishing effective relationships with key stakeholders and 3rd parties. Awareness of IT Security and compliance issues e.g. PCI DSS. Salary based on experience |
