| InSYTE personnel currently provide Engineering Services at Divisional Offices and Plant Locations for extended periods of time including long days, weekends, and holidays to design, install, and launch production critical Assembly plant systems.
Each employee of InSYTE has many years of experience in Manufacturing Operations, Processes and Systems and specific knowledge of Ford's Assembly Operations and the related Automated Vehicle Scheduling System (AVS). InSYTE personnel possess a full range of skills from project leadership to debugging wiring on the shop floor and the commitment to getting the job done.
InSYTE personnel are supporting Ford's AVS products such as AVS Data Server, Matchpoint, Unit Controller, Broadcast Control Unit, and Automated Blend System by defining customer requirements, reviewing software designs, performing integration testing, updating documentation, and training plant personnel.
InSYTE personnel are supporting Ford's strategic projects such as the PN96 launch at Norfolk, Block Painting System (BPS) implementations at Edison, Twin Cities and Kansas City plus other plants, In-Line Vehicle Sequencing (ILVS) design and implementation at Dearborn and Michigan Truck plus the roll out to the other plants, and the planned AVS upgrade at Hermosillo. InSYTE is also involved in training the plant employees on the functions of AVS in support of these strategic projects to assure successful implementation and continuous operation.
Furthermore InSYTE has built up a skill set of 15 years of involvement in AVS related work with Ford that would be very difficult and time consuming for Ford to replicate with another vendor.
Description Of Services
The Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) Engineering Services performed InSYTE personnel support the development and implementation of the Automated Vehicle Scheduling System (AVS) onsite at Vehicle Operations & General Offices and at various Assembly Plants. These services involve the following activities:
バ Application Specification involving determining customer requirements through interviews, observation of production processes, and writing and reviewing operational descriptions.
バ Application Design by defining system user interfaces, system functions, and reviewing with system developers.
バ Application Acceptance by developing test scenarios, setting up test environments, and perform system integration tests.
バ Project Planning, Control and Reporting of the various system related activities including the use of project management software.
バ Transponder Testing in the plant to verify the attachment and data can be maintained from point of installation to removal and return.
バ Plant Floor Installation Design involving selection of the final locations of the AVS systems (Matchpoint, Unit Controllers, Transponder Support Systems) and the AVS devices (Transponder antennas, IPDs, Junction boxes, Mounting brackets, Uticors, Printers). Wiring diagrams will be generated to allow wiring schematics to be produced by engineering activities.
バ Installation Guidance to provide information to the personnel installing the equipment and wiring. This activity also includes verify the installation work to the schematics.
バ Installation Equipment Checkouts by performing tests using software utilities and instrumentation (continuity meters and protocol analyzers) as needed.
バ Software Installation which includes the Systems and Application software. The Unit Controller application files (ACL, CNF) will be designed, generated, tested and installed to meet the plant's operational requirements.
バ Application Launch consisting in user acceptance review, written operating procedures, user training, initialization of data, startup support at the operation, correction of problems and on-going improvements to assure successful implementation.
