| ITT Communications Systems (CS) is a world leader in developing wireless networking systems for tactical communications. We are the creator of the core technology used in the world’s two largest tactical digitization programs. CS is a co-creator of the Software Communications Architecture for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) and is also the provider for America’s newest ground to air radios used by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Our business is comprised of four business areas serving distinct market segments:
C4 Systems designs and integrates network-centric communications systems, manufactures aviation, ground mobile, and shipboard antenna systems, and provides field engineering support to the military and Federal agencies. We deliver high bandwidth networking systems in tactical shelters and transit cases to deployed USMC units. We build large-aperture satellite terminals, mobile satellite defense systems, and design and support satellite monitoring and control systems. We manufacture over 40,000 antennas annually for military and commercial customers. We’re the prime provider of Fleet Systems Engineering Team support for USN Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Group C4ISR systems. We provide USAID Communications and IT support, as well as satellite, IT, and land mobile radio field support to U.S. Government customers overseas.
Tactical Communications is the home of the most widely deployed military tactical radio program in the world. With over 400,000 systems delivered and deployed, SINCGARS continues to be the gold standard in secure voice and data solutions around the world. SINCGARS is the core of the Army’s tactical internet, including anti-spoofing GPS, radio-based combat identification, vehicle remote control units, and an advanced version of the Spearhead handheld radio. Joint Tactical Radio Systems leads the way for our next generation of Software Compliant Architecture (SCA) waveforms and radios for both current and future forces. Our Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) is the new JTRS waveform, supporting virtually all radio form factors being developed by the JTRS family of programs. SRW provides secure voice and data capability across an ad-hoc network providing high bandwidth for simultaneous operations by dismounted soldiers, vehicular networks, sensors, and unattended ground and airborne vehicles.
International Communications Systems provides complete communications solutions for our customers worldwide. These solutions encompass large scale projects with complete C4 solutions, networks, satellite communications, and a wide range of tactical networks and radios to support all echelons of military and civil operations. We have deployed systems in over 33 countries, with many more in progress. Our most recent major win is to provide complete tactical radios, vehicle installations and support for the Iraqi Armed Forces.
Advanced Technologies is the research and development arm of Communications Systems, and is leading the industry in mixed mode (RF and digital) ASIC development, advanced Information Security solutions, next-generation waveforms and classified programs. Advanced Systems partners with Government Laboratories and Agencies to develop and solve complex problems for the Warfighter.
