| We are a licensed group home with an excellent reputation among professionals serving children and young adults. We specialize in serving children who are developmentally delayed. We provide a full range of residential care. The state sets standards for our employees. They must be over 18 yrs old and have at least a high school diploma. They may not have a criminal conviction history. They should exhibit good character. We are an equal opportunity employer with a diverse staff from many cultures, orientations, ages and challenges. Our home is in an attractive and safe neighborhood. It is warm, safe and comfortable and, yet cluttered with books, games, computers, and other resources. In short, it is not set up as an institution. It is meant to be a home like environment. Unlike at most official "group" homes, I live in the house with the six children or young adults. At this time we have teenagers, most of which have been with us over five years. Our primary need is for overnight staff members who will remain awake during the midnight shift. While in the home, these staff would prepare food for the next day, perform basic cleaning and house hold chores and deal with basic office paper work. We need three part-time or two full time workers. Hours are somewhat flexible. The other job opening is for a core office staffer. Such a person would need to be bonded and reliable. Although we train for both positions, we would expect that the applicant would have some experience in the relevant tasks. We are conveniently located. All applicants must be finger printed and background checked. The Starting or Training wage is at minimum wage, but after the initial sixteen hours of training and supervision, a raise is negotiated that is within our budget and acknowledges the individual`s skills and abilities to help our children and to do the required work. Full or part time positions are available for serious, career builders. Most of our employees have been with the organization for over five years. These vacancies have occurred because the departing individual has had significant changes in his/her personal lives. |
