| The world was well into year 1995. Fast Food and Nouvelle Cuisine had taken Coffee Shops and Trattorie by storm. In the name of modern life commandments, the great pleasure of dining was caught between plain efficiency and formal aesthetic.
Meanwhile a few friends were busy cooking up good old fried rice the traditional way.
It wasn`t long before the similarities between what was happening to cooking and the film industry start dawning on them.
Believing that both good film production and good cooking rely on similar values, our friends start looking for the right recipe to create a film company that would be firmly anchored in the traditional values and yet capable of coping swiftly with the new challenges of the fast food era.
Which is when someone cried: `Guys, we`ve run out of carrots`.
Back to the basics: sometimes that`s all it takes to find answers. Drawing inspiration from the little missing ingredient, our friends envisioned a company that is as solid, as it is easy to work with:
They saw themselves as passionate chefs devoted to enhancing the overall taste of the dish without overwhelming the individual ingredients; disciples of a cooking school that is enough rooted in tradition to confidently take adventurous and creative detours.
What ensued was such an outburst of genuine passion and excitement that Carrot Film was founded on the 1st of May. Enough said.
The name of the company was a no-brainer. On reflection, `Passion fruit` would have been a fine name too. But then again that doesn`t go as well with fried rice now, doesn`t it?
For 13 years now, Carrot film has committed itself to cooking up boards in unique ways. And just like any well-trained team of chefs would, it modifies recipes to best enhance the taste of your board.
Because there is no such a thing like one way of preparing a good salad, as there is no one way to good filmmaking. |
