| The Berlin Metropolitan School (BMS) is an international day school in the Hackescher Markt area of Berlin’s Mitte district. Combined under one roof are a Preschool, Primary School and Secondary School (Middle and Upper School), which culminate in the internationally recognized IGCSE and IB diplomas.
Currently, 440 children ranging in age from Preschool to Grade 6 are enrolled in the school. Our students take pride in meeting the challenges presented by a rigorous school program, at the core of which is a renowned international curriculum. Teaching is conducted in English, in adherence to the standards of the IBO and Cambridge University. Academy quality goes hand in hand with school’s foremost priority: instilling a love of learning.
The education students receive at the Berlin Metropolitan School is their gateway to a globalized world, one in which rapid change presents unforeseeable challenges. What our students will need are problem-solving capabilities, language skills, intercultural understanding, and a strong sense of self-- traits that develop as readily through the acquisition of a new language as they do through the staging of performances, another focus of the school. The academic day is enriched by an extensive afternoon program. A day school, the Berlin Metropolitan School offers a full and varied program from 7:30 to 18:00 that promotes the development of academic skills and nurtures children’s emotional, social, and physical growth. Throughout the school day, students have opportunities to explore areas of interest and discover their strengths and talents.
