| Job Description: |
A Grade A contractor is seeking a Project Manager
Duties will include:
To work as part of a team to deliver projects within time, quality and budget, to work with Clients to produce a relationship that results in repeat business.
The engineer will be expected to be capable of performing or assisting with the following duies.
a) Sequence and programme works
b) Have knowledge of programme types
c) Production of procurement schedules
d) Production of pre-construction programmes, construction programmes, commissioning programmes and have an understanding of interfaces and co-ordination with other disciplines and contractors
e) Be capable of managing sub-contractors
f) Production of Invitations to Tender and evaluation of returned tenders
g) Establishing workscope, specifications, programmes and cost control of sub-contracted works
h) Understanding of specifications and drawings
i) Understanding of the contract and contract conditions and obligations
j) Work with other disciplines, Consultants, Clients, sub-contractors and vendors to produce a successful programme
k) Have an understanding of and be able to contribute to Total Risk Management
l) Ability to survey and report on existing installations
m) Have an understanding of current Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Ministry Requirements
n) Ability to check drawings for accuracy and buildability
o) Seek advice from specialists as required
p) Maintain manual or computerised schedules as required
q) Undertake site and works visits as required by the execution of his / her duties
r) Production of risk assessments and methods of work to comply with the Health and Safety requirements
s) Control and monitor the production of site labour
t) When required, assist in the preparation of tenders for new works
u) Take off and requisition materials in a timely manner
v) Work with the Quantity Surveyor to produce the costs on any variations
w) Monitor and report on programme and progress

Skills Required:: |
The Candidate should have as a minimum: Relevant degree (BSc, BEng); 5 years experience of contracting work, Office and site experience, Previously held a similar position, Experience of being in charge of a minimum of 50 workers, Worked on contracts with Large Contractors and Ministry projects, Capable of programming and planning, Basic skills and knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read and interpret drawings, Ability to produce reports, Capable of working with minimum supervision, Ability to work with willingness and conduct site visits as required, Adept with Microsoft Office programmes, Good literacy and numeracy skills essential, Ability to meet deadlines, Excellent communications skills, Ability to produce and deliver presentations. |
