Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring all Health Safety & Environment activities of the project, including acting as the Company client representative on Safety & Health matters and the deployment, supervision and development of Safety staff.
Principal accountabilities:
Reporting to the Corporate HSE Manager you will proactively co-ordinate and monitor project activities to ensure agreed HSE standards are fully implemented and properly followed.
Act as the Company client representative on HSE matters for co-ordinating and conducting weekly site inspections. Attend weekly comprehensive project progress client meeting. Undertake daily HSE project inspection ensuring follow-up and rectification of detected irregularities and report the same to the Corporate HSE Manager.
Convene regular sub-contractor meetings to co-ordinate execution of various activities and ensure minimum disruption to work programmes.
Review all HSE related documentation, including Method Statements, work permit procedures and safety equipment requisitions, to ensure compliance with established standards.
Assist in preparation of site and project specific operating procedures to ensure contract obligations are met.
Review scope of work completed, from the HSE perspective, to identify trends and possible exposure to problems.
Issue and keep records of all industrial injuries reports and dispatch the same to C.HSE Manager & Personnel Dept. Ensure Safety statistics are documented, maintained and analysed and that remedial action is taken where necessary.
Set rotation schedule for Safety Officers to ensure coverage of all project activities and the development of staff expertise.
Identify training and development needs, seek approval for appropriate programmes and participate in their implementation.
Minimum requirements:
B.Sc. Engineering (or equivalent).
Site experience in a supervisory Health Safety & Environmental role.
Professional Safety accreditation with an internationally recognised body. (Preferred).
Good knowledge and awareness of other project discipline activities.
Well-developed technical knowledge and understanding of execution methodology.
Good co-ordination and presentation skills.
Good communication and influencing skills.
Good writing skills and ability to document policies and procedures.
Assertive personality, sensitive to multi-cultural, multi-national environments.
Computer literacy in Word and Excel
In return:
The salary offered will be dependant on your skills and experiences.
