・ Primary person responsible for making decisions on:
o Technology roadmap and key strategies
o Building up the current technology development team
・ Primary driver of development schedules and major milestones
・ Work together with marketing group to:
o Decide on key features and requirements for all products
o Manage all product related customer support issues
・ Work together with head of R&D to:
o Plan out and integrate new products in the pipeline
o Manage and integrate into product development any ongoing learning sciences research
・ VP of Engineering will report to CTO; day-to-day management of the software development and systems admin group can be delegated to VP

Skills Required:: |
Required Skills
・ Must already be a technology leader of leaders, i.e. 2nd layer management
・ Previous technical experience, preferably in software development
・ At least two years of experience in a company with a strong web-services business, i.e. not just a bricks-and-mortar company with a web site
・ In-depth knowledge of:
o Software-based product development
o Web-based systems
o Current Web 2.0 technology trends and business practices
・ Strong experience in the business aspects of deploying web services to consumers
・ Experience with the business aspects of deploying web services to institutional customers
