Media Studies Faculty are responsible for teaching video production and media communication courses in the Higher Diploma and Bachelor level of Applied Media Studies.
Applied Media Studies is a generalist program including technical training in photography, audio, video, and multimedia. Students also learn Mass Media, Communications and Business of Media concepts and practical applications.
Requirements:
o Master's Degree in Media or Communication Studies
o Minimum of 3 years teaching the theory and practice of basic visualizing / storyboarding, planning, color, layout, typography, design history and proven graphics-related work experience, in print, video, electronic media and copywriting
o Working knowledge of all current, popular media-related software, including; Photoshop,
o Illustrator, Indesign, QuarkxPress, Dreamweaver, Flash and Final Cut Pro
o Technical Media Production- Broadcasting, Digital Media, Editing/Lighting/Video, Video Post Production, Software- Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of Media & Design Studies- Animation, Style and Genre, History of Media and Film an additional plus
o Experience teaching Marketing, Advertising and Promotion, Portfolio Development or Global Media Trend courses is an asset
