Main duties & responsibilities
· Implement, operate, maintain, secure
and enhance the O&M Unix-based
Network Management Solutions (NMS)
· Analysis (functional and impact) of
problems within all applications. Escalate
issues within the team.
· Interact with O&M staff to solve technical
problems
· Control user access and security on
O&M systems
· Provide system support to O&M staff
· Maintain backup & recovery functions for
OSS systems
· Ensure data integrity is maintained
across inter-dependant databases
· Ensure change control procedures are
followed.
· Interact with vendor technical staff to
maintain, upgrade, commission new
hardware and software
· Provide out of hours support.
· Take on other responsibilities as
assigned by the OSS Manager.

Skills Required:: |
3 years UNIX systems
administration preferably utilising Sun Solaris or HP-UX in a primarily UNIX based environment.
Experience with implementing/ maintaining Network Management
Systems.
Excellent communications skills.
Self-motivated and capable of good time management.
Proven problem solving skills.
Full clean Drivers Licence
