| Job Description: |
The Associate will become part of a 4-5 person strategy and development team and will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and supporting the execution of new investments and asset classes. The Associate will also act as a strategic advisor to portfolio company senior management.
The successful candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity or the equivalent in industry from a world renowned consulting firm. The successful candidate will approach business challenges with the perspective of an investor, while engaging strong strategy and consulting skills. The position requires highly-developed analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to:
Conduct thorough analysis to create strategy frameworks/models that address complex problems and result in strategic insights. Must quickly identify and assess true value drivers.
Create concise, executive-level strategy and investment presentations, including investment memoranda, business plans and strategy reviews.
Perform and oversee sophisticated financial analysis and valuation.
Communicate effectively with senior leadership and portfolio company management.
In addition, successful candidates will possess:
Sophisticated understanding of the high-tech industry, including telecommunications, outsourcing, software and/or media
Strong interest and intellectual curiosity about a variety of businesses
Flexibility in work/communication style
Demeanor that engenders confidence in senior management
Creativity and tenacity in research and analysis
A self-motivated, can-do attitude with the ability to work intensively to get the job done
Attention to detail; strong sense of logic; accountability for results
An MBA or equivalent degree from a top-tier school is required. Operating experience in the high-tech industry and/or a CFA designation is a plus. The position is located in the Northeast. |
