Position Title: Consultant IBM AIX Admin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract period: 9 months initially

Visa to Saudi: Will be provided.

A multinational company (prime contractor) has a requirement for a person experienced in operation and support of IBM products in order to assist with the implementation and operation of these products into a major project in the financial sector in Saudi Arabia. The role is part of the project stage and will assist users who will be primarily concerned with testing applications provided by the suppliers.
This role is one of supporting the provided systems in a customer environment during the project stage and providing an appropriate level of service to the customer. The incumbent will be one of a small team and will require flexibility and good all-round technical knowledge. The role is essentially system and software product related, but the ability to embrace application related issues also is highly desirable. The role is customer facing and will be based in Riyadh.
Job requirements
The person is required to assist in the implementation of the systems in the following ways:
Provide an operational capability to the users of the various environments during testing of applications
Provide mentoring / support / training as appropriate to the customer operations staff.
Assist with the implementation of new application releases into the customer environments
Develop, in conjunction with the suppliers/vendors/sub-contractors and the customer staff, procedures for activities related to operation of the applications
Prepare or advise on status reporting on the operational environments
Assist with update of processes and procedures in the operational environment
Seek to understand the customers business and requirements and advise on operational matters as they relate to those needs
Understand the service levels required and analyse system performance against these levels

Skills Required:: |
Good knowledge of AIX
Good operational knowledge of IBM products, HACMP, TWS, DB2, TXseries, Websphere, CICS Transaction Gateway
An understanding of network matters
An ability to work with, mentor, train people from a different culture
A customer focused disposition
An ability to work flexibly in order meet customer requirements
Good organizational skills
Good communication skills
