| Job Description: |
Candidate is required to be responsible for the following:
Fault Management
24 x 7 Monitoring
Fault Escalation and Closure ( resolution)
Work around solution to maintain uptime
Significant Event Reporting for major outages
Trending of Re- Occurring Faults
Permanent Fix to prevent re-occurrence
Reporting on Fault clearance ( SLA )
Co-relation of Faults to planned events
Capacity Management
Plan and Implement Capacity Growth due to :
New customers
New Services
Change in Network Topology
Additional Monitoring requirement
Weekly capacity review for unforeseen growth
Capacity alarms 24 x 7 ( Thresholds) for monitoring real time capacity issues :

Prioritize existing active customers / services

Obtain clearance / approval from effected customers / teams
Access control to all In-Service ( Production ) elements:
Access application and approval process
Emergency access control for non Qtel staff ( Vendors )
Access Deletion for security control
Database Change Request (DCR) :
DCR execution for every change on Production Box
DCR approval loop ensures changes are acknowledged
DCR justification , co relates to version control in Config Management
Roll- Back procedure in place for failures
Performance Management
Define automated / manual performance check routines
Define threshold for performance failures
Define schedule for performance checks
Consistent performance failures to be moved under Fault Management
Establish performance checks for new services or customers
Weekly reporting for performance ( Trending )
Source / Evaluate and deploy tools for Performance management
Requirements
Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or IT
Min 10 years working experience in the mobile or wireless broadband industry with 5 years experience in Network Operations.
Hands-on experience in mobile network planning, design, implementation and optimization
Good knowledge of existing mobile or wireless technologies such as GSM, GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSPA and 802.X Wi-Fi
Good working knowledge in Packet Core technologies and networks
