Our client are market leaders in the Online Gaming Industry and they have an opening for a skilled professional to carry out webmaster duties in what is known as a highly competitive and fast-paced gaming industry market here in Gibraltar
Candidate Profile
Required skills and experience:
3+ years of commercial experience in a competitive web development environment
Enthusiastic personality with good communication and inter-personal skills
Good experience of cross-platform migration and development issues
Expert knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
A solid experience with good knowledge of multi-platform Internet Scripting languages like ASP, JSP, PHP
3+ years experience (overlapping) with both Windows and UNIX/Linux server environments
Thorough understanding and experience of managing both Apache (Linux) and IIS (Windows) web servers
Good knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience of working with cross-platform relational database systems like Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and/or Oracle
Strong problem solving skills and an ability to identify alternative development solutions
Good understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques and related tools and technologies
Fluency in English is a must
Desirable skills and experience:
Familiarity with some of industrys leading Content Management Systems (CMS) is very welcome
Knowledge of XML, XSL and XSLT scripting generation, tools and parsing techniques is a bonus
Experience with graphics editing tools by Adobe and (formerly) Macromedia
Knowledge of Flash design and Action Script programming is a bonus
Knowledge of website personalisation and geo-targeting tools
Fluency or at least good knowledge of any other major European language (Spanish/German/French) is a bonus
Experience in online gaming industry not essential but very welcome
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Mission-critical website maintenance, fine-tuning and performance monitoring
Website content updates including content performance analysis
Web logs analysis with an ability to produce scheduled and non-scheduled detailed reports
Ability to deliver site improvements and functional additions
System database and web servers monitoring and maintenance
