General Summary
Directs the overall performance of a country by providing functional management and strategic direction in the delivery of professional services.
Essential Functions
· General management. Definition of the business' strategies and objectives, based on guidelines from EMEA/Regional leadership. Works closely with the practice management to foster effective working relationships within the country. Supports the one-firm concept that puts the best resources in front of clients and markets and acts as a global business partner.
· Financial management. Develops annual budget and business plan for the country. Manages all functions that contribute to the profitability of the country and the achievement of business objectives. Exercises expense control and maximize revenue and net operating income within the country in compliance with corporate guidelines. Monitors the profitability of client accounts and determines optimum pricing. Delivers results according to agreed plans.
· Client development. Drives profitable growth in the country. Leads the new business activities of the group. Builds on economic buyer relationship with clients and prospects. Manages the various resources that result in either the opportunity to sell company services to new clients or to sell existing clients additional company services.
· Client service. Manages client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention. Supports negotiations with the client regarding the pricing of services in critical situations. Monitors the client consulting and support services functions within the country to ensure the highest performance standards and customer satisfaction. Keeps internal and external clients as the focal point of all activities. Capable of maintaining relationships with all key clients and prospects in the country (CFO, CEO)
· Matrix management. Encourages and fosters cooperation with the client industry, client consulting, and placement groups, as well as other companies to meet local client needs. Coordinates with regional and country management the ultimate allocation of income between client industry groups, where necessary. Arbitrates any disputes between the various practices within the country. Is sensitive to the impact and implications of decisions and activities on other parts of the organization.
· Carrier management. Manages relationships with carriers and Global Broking centers. Participates in meetings with carriers and placement personnel to ensure quality service and best available terms for new and existing business with the insurance market.
· Staff management. Directs the employment activities of the country that include staffing, performance assessment, development, and training. Encourages employee development by providing appropriate coaching and counseling support. Sets high standards for goals that result in top quality service. Motivates and leads employees and inspires team spirit. Recruits, trains and develops high performing talented employees. Manages succession in key functions.
· Information management. Shares relevant information with staff to ensure goal achievement and client satisfaction. Acts as business partner in the development of both technology-based and process-based business solutions in order to balance user requirements. Understands and effectively utilizes information and data processing technology to support and improve staff and process efficiency.

Skills Required:: |
10 > years of industry experience, with ideally an emphasis on broking, consulting, client sales, client management, and employee management.
· Proven track record of building and maintaining high level of performance in relevant areas.
· Has proven track record in growing a business.
· Has the relevant licenses / diploma’s, necessary certifications to work as country manager.
· Speaks and write both English and the relevant local language(s) fluently.
· Understands the culture and business behaviour in the relevant local country/ies fully.
· Has broad experience in working in / with multinational companies, preferably of UK and / or USA origin.
