1. The relationship between Yeosu and WNP
The Yeosu Education Board has been carrying out the placement extended business of foreign English teachers to elementary, middle and high schools within the areas by support from the Yeosu municipal office since 2006. 22 of foreign English teachers have been placed so far through the Education Board, exclusively by WNP. The WNP service includes not only placement, but also managing placed teachers by continuous management system after the placement.

2. The regional features of Yeosu

Yeosu is located on the southern shore of Korea, where we can feel the Korean traditional intimacy and there’s a well-organized community for foreign teachers.

Yeosu is the point where the Hanryosudo in the middle of the Southern coast of the Korean Peninsula begins. It is a blessed ocean city with a relatively longer spring and autumn season than other regions. The Population of Yeosu city as of the end of 2005 was about 153,664. In addition, Yeosu city has been expanding the exchanges and setting up sisterhood relationship & friendly city relationship with 7 countries and 12 cities in Asia and North and Central America.It is a city that is complete with social, educational, cultural and sports facilities that are good enough to qualify it as a candidate city to host the 2012 International Exhibition.

About Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea

Recognizing the valuable opportunity offered by International EXPO to discuss and reaffirm joint human efforts towards the preservation of the oceans and coasts, the Korean government decided in 1996, to host the EXPO in Yeosu under the theme of the ocean and has since worked to secure the bid for the 2010 International Registered Expo.

Now the Korean government is once again preparing to host the 2012 International Recognized Expo based on its strong resolve, Its past successes in hosting international events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games, the strong aspiration of the residents of Yeosu and the tireless and faithful preparation.

3. The placement report for public education organization within the Yeosu jurisdiction -
The number of placed of foreign English teachers to public education organization is in total 32 at present and about 50 is planned to be placed till next year.

3. Benefits
A. Accommodation
The Employer shall provide each employee with a place to stay or housing allowance, Employee shall also be offered kitchenware, a washing machine, a refrigerator, a TV, and some basic furniture such as a bed and a table set. Any and all fees, charges, costs, taxes, expenses, etc. Incurred while using the apartment shall be borne by the Employee.

B. Airfare
The round trip airfare ticket to Korea shall be reimbursed by the Employer based on an economy class ticket. In the case of a contract renewal, most direct flight available from Korea to Employee's home, excluding Korean domestic flights will be provided. If the Employee resigns within the first six months of the current contract, he/she will responsible for returning any airfare paid by the Employer.

C. Vacation and Paid Leaves
Vacation and Sick Leave
-Paid vacation: seven days per semester (total 14 days) for during school vacation period in July-August and, January-February, plus all National Holidays.
-Unpaid vacation: teachers that re-sign after completion of their first contract receive a 14-day paid vacation leaves between contracts
-Sick leave: with the approval of your employer, paid sick leave can be arranged under special circumstances if both notice and approval occur before the beginning of such leave and a medical diagnosis justifying such leave is submitted

D. Health Insurance and Other Deductions
-Income Tax: tax deductions will be made in accordance with Korean law; you can expect your income tax rate to be 3.3% (the tax rate is tied to one's income level)
-Pension Fund: you must pay into Korea's national pension fund: 9% of your salary per month (your contribution is 4.5% and your employer matches that with another 4.5%; citizens from certain countries may reclaim this pension payment at the end of their contract; currently only Americans and Canadians)
-Medical/Health Insurance: half your monthly fees for Korean National Health Insurance will be paid for by your employer

E. Remuneration and Pay Scale
Payday is on the 25th day of each month (or the immediately preceding business day if the 25th is National Holiday or on the weekend)
Settlement allowance: Krw 300,000 (first year only), Severance pay: you will be paid one month's salary as a severance payment if you complete your one-year contract, in accordance with the Labor Standards Act of Korea
Level 1: 2.3 million won per month. In addition to the basic requirements, a Level 1 instructor must have one of the following:
- A Teacher's Certificate, for Elementary or Secondary school, with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions
- A Tesol/tefl Certificate comprised of a minimum of 100 course hours with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions
-A master's degree with at least two years of full time teaching experience at accredited institutions

Level 2: 2.1 million won per month. In addition to the basic requirements, a Level 2 instructor must have one of the following:
-A Teacher's certificate for Elementary or Secondary School.
-A Tesol/tefl Certificate comprised of a minimum of 100 course hours.
-A master's degree.
-A bachelor's degree with at least one year of full time English teaching experience at accredited institutions

Level 3: 2.0 million won per month. A Level 3 instructor must have

4. Basic Requirements:
-Applicants must be a citizen of one of the six English speaking countries:
Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
-Have a good command of the English language and have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and living.
-Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
