The Information Technology Department is responsible for supporting the data processing requirements of the various Group companies. These requirements dictate that IT maintains an on-going program of new system development and operational system support. Within IT, the Systems and Programming group fulfills this need. The group is composed of several Project Teams, each with primary responsibility for a variable number of application systems. Each team will provide customer support for production systems and participate in the design and implementation of new computer systems and selection, purchase, and implementation of application software packages. These teams also provide support to the various customers in the resolution of business problems.
The Senior Policy Administration Programmer is a high level technician that focuses on complex work requests. As a member of the project team, these individuals are responsible for the design and enhancement of new or existing life insurance policy administration systems, primarily utilizing the CyberLife system. This includes the design, coding and testing of new programs and modification and testing of existing programs. These individuals also interface with the customer to assist in the implementation of work requests. The incumbent must be capable of handling all technical requirements of positions below this level. This position may be given the responsibility of defining solutions to work requests of a limited size.
The Senior Programmer will code, debug and may test application programs using Cobol, JCL and other relevant mainframe utilities. This position requires these abilities plus comprehensive knowledge of one of the following life insurance policy administration systems: CyberLife, Vantage One, LifeComm, Life 70, or CFO. Specifically, experience in CyberLife is desired. The responsibilities of this position will also include mentoring other members of the team. The incumbent must be adaptive to the use of new software aids and programming techniques as they are acquired or adopted within IT.

Job Requirements
· Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and/or education;
· Successful completion of an analytical aptitude exam;
· Four + years experience in mainframe programming; and
· Solid experience working with life insurance policy administration systems (e.g. CyberLife, Vantage One, LifeComm, Life 70, or CFO).
