This position is located in Helena Montana, cradled in the foothills of the Montana Rockies, surrounded by pristine forests, alive with history and culture. This charming, sophisticated, and beautiful Victorian city is both the capital of the state of Montana and the county seat for Lewis and Clark County.
As an Information Architect, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the creation of our in-house Data Warehouse. We are looking for an individual that is excited to be part of a team and can bring the technical expertise to the table to assist with the building of the Data Warehouse. Experience in Business Process Mapping specifically utilizing the IBM (formerly Popkin) System Architect tool would be considered a plus.
An Information Architect at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana will have the following attributes and abilities:
· Ability to work as part of a team working towards common goals and the success of projects.
· Polished writing and presentation skills
· Working knowledge of IT technologies and applications, such as OS/390, Windows (all platforms), SQL Server (as well as other RDBMS technologies) and a willingness to openly share the knowledge within the team.
· Knowledge of the Cognos Business Intelligence tool would be considered a plus. Knowledge of other BI tools (such as the Microsoft suite of BI tools available with SQL 2005) would be considered valuable.
· Excellent visual/ verbal communicator with a demonstrated strong creative vision for organizing interactive information systems
· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, be highly organized, a team player, flexible, and stay updated on all changes or advancements in technology
· Remains abreast of computer technology and trends in search of potential improvements in various systems that might enhance BCBSMT’s ability to deliver products and services to staff and members
· Demonstrated ability to forecast and manage IA tasks to completion within budget and timeline targets
Our ideal candidate will possess:
· Bachelors’ degree in computer science, engineering or related field, eight years experience in Information Technology with three years information systems design, and four years demonstrated project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience with several of the following technologies: OS/390, Windows ( all platforms), RDBMSs, Client Server, Application Design and languages, middleware, SQL Server, ETL Tools, query languages, meta data repositories, and modeling tools.
