Job Description:Preparative (HPLC) Business Development Manager – Asia [PBDM-A]
The position requires extensive travel throughout Asia to promote, educate, and inform Asian pharmaceutical and biotech firms about Phenomenex’s large scale process chromatography portfolio.
The successful PBDM-A will arrange meetings with key scientific personnel, laboratory and production management, procurement, and senior management, which result in moving the client into a long-term relationship with Phenomenex.
Additionally, the PBDM-A will arrange meetings with key members of the Phenomenex PREP Team with clients throughout the region.
In addition to servicing the existing customer base, the PBDM-A will also be responsible for acquiring new contacts through marketing efforts including; representing Phenomenex at appropriate trade conventions, attending industry related functions pertinent to the business, and working with Phenomenex’s existing distributor network to cultivate direct relationships with their process and pharmaceutical manufacturing industry clients.
Geographic Region: Asia (Predominately India and China, as the business expands other nations may also be included; Japan, Korea, Singapore).

Skills Required:: |
Background: 5+ years of relevant experience working in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry, preferably with experience in preparative and/or process chromatography.
Scientific Credentials including BS, MS, or PhD in Chemistry or the life sciences are expected, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
Professional sales experience in this market is beneficial.
Formal business education is also a plus.
