Network and Telco Specialist
Our Client one of the worlds largest online gaming organisations are seeking an Network and Telco Specialist .

Job Purpose
To provide day-to-day support and maintenance on the network to ensure a close to maximum uptime of all essential network components including all servers switches and firewalls and telephony.
Key Responsibilities / Activities
• Manage the delivery of ongoing network development including systems maintenance, backup and disaster recovery to minimise systems problems or failures and ensure that any such are resolved quickly, effectively and with minimal adverse impact on the organisation.
• Liaise closely with the Helpdesk manager and team to provide seamless ongoing user support for their systems and to provide in depth problem resolution support.
• Manage the development, operation and maintenance of the network infrastructure including their development, operation, backup, maintenance, security, scheduling and documentation to provide a secure and robust network.
• Managing 3rd party suppliers of hardware and software to ensure continuous support and achievement of value for money of IT solutions through maintenance of a productive working relationship.
• Provide network and IT technical expertise to applications developers, operations, and other IT staff for systems development and production support.
• Develop all supporting technical documentation to facilitate consistency and quality of installations, systems upgrades and recovery/ repair.
• Ensure the application of best practice with regard to network management in the environment to provide a stable and robust infrastructure.
• Support installation of new and existing hardware platforms and their operating environments from a network perspective to support ongoing business change and strategy.
• Monitor traffic on the network to optimize network performance and to ensure the network continues to support future business requirements.
• Monitor and manage telephony systems
Experience / Qualifications Requirements
• Computer Science/IT related university degree.
• Minimum five years relevant experience in an IT role supporting network and telephony environments.
• Cisco Certified Internetworking Engineer (CCIE)
• Previous experience with Solaris and ORACLE technologies and online real-time high volume financial transaction application systems
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, Internet and firewall technologies.
• Demonstrated tolerance to high workloads and multiple changing priorities.
• Demonstrated experience in network administration and reporting/application analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and issues at all levels
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise work load.
• Effective awareness of current IT issues and technology.
• VOIP and Telco experience
• ITIL Foundation

Technical
• Provide effective support, policy, and procedures documentation.
• Understand and drive initiatives to support change control and operational integrity.
• Conceive and develop effective systems to proactively support and manage business operations.
• Advanced working knowledge of word processor, pc database, and spreadsheet packages

Salary: £30K - £54K
