Network Engineer
One of the worlds leading online gaming communities relies on its IT support team to ensure the ongoing operation for its gamers. As a Principal Networking Engineer you will maintain 24 x 7 availability to ensure that the end-user experience is kept to the highest levels. You will ensure the efficient, non-stop running of our production IP network, including growing or moving the network to meet future consumer demand.
Your main responsibilities as a Principal Networking Engineer will involve:
Maintaining and configuring an F5 load balancer, a 10G backbone, Juniper Netscreen, Toplayer IPS and Foundry RX8 and RX16
Setting firewall policies and diagnosing network faults
Liaising with other departments and bandwidth suppliers
Responding to faults passed through ticketing system
Acting on a rotating call-out requiring occasional travel to Guernsey and London
Your skills and qualifications as a Principal Networking Engineer will ideally include:
Proven experience in on line gaming company, a large ISP or a telecoms organisation looking after large scale networks
Thorough knowledge of IP networking, Juniper Netscreen, Toplayer IPS, and Foundry Big Iron, with supporting Linux, Unix, network routing and network security experience an advantage
IP networking experience providing, second level support
