| Job Description: |
Job Purpose: The Human Resources Officer is responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance appraisal and employee counseling.
Duties:
•To work closely with departments in a consultancy role, assisting senior staff and managers to understand and implement policies and procedures;
•To promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the company;
•To liaise with a wide range of organisations involved in areas such as race relations, disability, gender, age, religion and health & safety;
•To develop policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management;
•To recruit and hire staff: this includes developing job descriptions, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, shortlisting applicants, interviewing and selecting candidates;
•To administer and file personnel data; employee contracts, employment permits, sickness and holiday records, medical/health checks according to company policies;
•To advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;
•To maintain an up to date country and industry summary of salaries and benefits offered by competitors;
•To administer payroll, overtime and social insurance procedures;
•To interpret and advise Managers on employment legislation as received from relevant governmental authorities;
•To listen to grievances and implement disciplinary procedures;
•To process termination procedures as per company policy
•To analyse training needs in coordination with departmental managers;
•To continually amend the training and development programs as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment;
•To plan and sometimes deliver training courses, including inductions for new staff, keeping within the budget allocated from the Head Office;
•To prepare training material if necessary;
•To supervise the work of trainers;
•To assess the training courses and trainers according to completed training assessment questionnaires;
•To keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending courses;
•To contribute to health and safety of the working environment;
•To read and understand Company HSE Manual and any policy documents; adhering to the instructions at all times
•To perform other duties as assigned
