| Job Description: |
Our client is a leading biopharmaceutical company based in San Francisco. They focus on the discovery, development and marketing of cardiovascular and anti-cancer therapies.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Serve as a source of medical expertise for cardiovascular project teams
2) Provide input to decisions that have medical, scientific and future marketing implications
3) Oversee medical input to design, planning, initiation and completion of clinical trials
4) Prepare medical components of study protocols and IND and other regulatory submissions
5) Establish communication with prominent clinical investigators in the area of cardiovascular medicine
6) Attend appropriate scientific meetings to maintain awareness of research activities and represent a project and/or company at such external events
7) Apply strategic intent of the company when working with regulatory bodies such as FDA and with opinion leaders
8) Perform product safety medical reviews for assigned investigational drugs
9) Ensure an appropriate level of customer service to internal and external customers
Job Requirements:
1) MD degree with board certification in internal medicine
2) 3+ years of clinical experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical company
3) Industry experience in clinical development of cardiovascular therapeutics
4) Industry experience at Associate Director/Sr. Director levels (preferred)
5) Sub-specialty training and prior industry experience in the clinical development of cardiovascular therapeutics
6) Strong understanding of human pharmacology, biochemical medicine and pharmacodynamic/clinical endpoints
7) Expertise in clinical trials design and related statistical issues
8) Knowledge of CDER regulations/ICH guidelines
9) Strong understanding of pharmaceutical safety reporting and surveillance requirements
10) Excellent presentation and communication skills – oral and written
11) Strong interpersonal skills
12) Leadership skills
13) Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
14) Computer literacy
15) Ability to work internationally
