Overview
Positions are available in our western Canada offices for professional engineers interested in working on a wide variety of challenging transportation planning and design assignments in rural and urban environments.
Your extensive experience in planning, and design of major roadways will contribute to the team of engineers and technologists in the implementation of complex projects.
This senior position includes the responsibility to supervise employees engaged in traffic engineering and transportation planning. The incumbent will lead the complex traffic engineering and related studies.
Responsibilities
- Plans, supervises, coordinates and checks the work of traffic engineering and transportation planning study projects including studies related to road improvements and expansion, transit facilities, impacts of new development, and road safety.
- Participates in the preparation of proposals for related projects including the selection of sub-consultants, and client contract negotiation.
- Prepares, administers, coordinates, and monitors transportation project budgets.
- Serves as client liaison.
- Makes presentations to client and stakeholder groups and at public meetings.

| Skills Required: |
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 10 plus years of relevant experience in transportation engineering, specifically related to planning and designing highway and other transportation projects
- Experience with Canadian codes and standards
- Experience as a project manager on projects for the public sector,
- Ability to work with and lead a team of professionals as well as liaise with clients and sub-consultants
- Experience in project management and leading/managing technical teams on engineering assignments
- Experience hiring and managing staff.
- Experience in business development and marketing functions including the ability and strong interest in securing new business
- Outstanding communication, documentation, and proposal writing skills
- Excellent leadership skills, is highly motivated, with excellent selling and negotiation skills
