Job Description: Position Objectives:

1. Provide leadership and contribute effectively in supporting the achievement of the business goals and objectives of the Group through accounting, planning, control, financial and treasury management and financial reporting.
2. Provide counsel, sound business and financial advice to corporate management.
3. Gain adequate understanding of the businesses of the Group member companies. Provide advice and counsel; assess specific reform(s) required in respect of policy, processes, system up-grades and reporting.
4. Institutionalize responsive financial planning, control and reporting processes.
5. Provide support to the Group CEO on capital appropriations/investments proposals.
6. Provide leadership to and develop members of the finance organization to achieve targets and objectives
7. Lead the development and implementation of appropriate information technology in the finance function within an approved IT strategy.
8. Establish and institutionalize processes and procedures to periodically receive, review and analyze financial reports of companies in which the Group Managing Director sits on the Board of Directors, providing him with required assistance in carrying out his duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Contribute to the formulation of the business objectives of the company and develop annual and medium term financial plans to achieve approved objectives.

2. Formulate, document and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance overall profitability for the company. Establish control objectives and initiate efficient and applicable accounting processes & organizational controls including administrative and financial authorities to meet control objectives.

3. Direct and supervise the accounting, finance, financial control, treasury, and management reporting functions of the Company.

4. Analyze company operations to identify opportunities and areas that need to be reorganized, down-sized, or eliminated.

5. Plan, direct, coordinate and control the operations of the finance and accounting function. Meet the statutory requirements and ensure accurate consolidation, presentation and auditing of the company’s financial reporting to acceptable international standards in collaboration with external auditors.

6. Provide leadership, empower and build the capabilities of staff in the finance team to achieve performance criteria. Pave the way for their growth and promotion, ensuring adequate succession planning.

7. Lead the identification and implementation of appropriate financial and accounting software systems within an approved IT strategy.


Occupational Skill
The candidate must possess proven expertise in financial management including: general accounting, finance, treasury; planning, forecasting, budgeting and control systems, financial analysis and reporting. He must have experience in introducing and implementing responsive computerized financial accounting systems. He should possess planning, organizational and analytical skills. Must be an articulate communicator, possessing oral, written and influence skills.


Preferred Occupational Experience and Background
The candidate must demonstrate experience of 15 years or more in financial management with at least 5 years experience in a senior financial management role in a recognized/reputable/ organizationally developed company/institution.


Preferred Training/Education
He must have a university degree in a related discipline from a recognized university. Professional Accountancy Certification (CFA/CPA) and /or an MBA will be considered as added assets. Proficiency in the English language is a must. Knowledge of the Arabic language is also an asset, but not a mandatory requirement.

The position requires a high-energy individual, who is self-directed and enthusiastic. He must be decisive and a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to take initiative. The candidate should have proven analytical, presentation, and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a significant dose of tact, verifiable integrity, character, and cultural adaptability. Team building skills are seen as a vital trait in the prospective candidate. Most candidates are expected to belong to the age group between late thirties and late forties.
