Full-Time English Teacher: Guadalajara , Mexico
Linguas, Centro de Idiomas y Traducciones is currently seeking an ESL teacher and translator to fill a five-month renewable contract beginning the first week of January 2008.
Linguas is a private and professional institution employing only native teachers to give language instruction in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. The atmosphere is friendly and the classes are small, most with only one to four students. Linguas, with over thirty years of experience, engages both children and adults alike with a conversation-based learning style and dynamic teachers.
With a population of 3.5 million, Guadalajara is Mexico’s second-largest city, after Mexico City. The city is nestled in the mountains, just three hours from the beach and 30 minutes from the country’s largest lake. Guadalajara offers the best of Mexican tradition and modern amenities that are expected in a city of its size. Unlike tourist hotspots which are overrun with English speakers, Guadalajara is a true Mexican city where one can practice and improve his or her Spanish. Guadalajara is an excellent place to live, work and play.
In addition to class instruction, full-time teachers may also be asked to do both tourism and other types of translations, as well as develop the Linguas language program and manuals. These full-time teaching positions are great for educators seeking a variety in class size, age and level as well as a number of exciting responsibilities outside of the classroom.
Part-time teachers can teach as many or as few classes as they would like. Classes are offered to teachers based on experience, attitude and availability.

Requirements:
* A Bachelors degree.
* TESL or similar desired
* Teaching experience desired
* Native English speaker (non-native speakers need not apply)
* Team player who works well with others
* Patient with a good sense of humor
* Intermediate to advanced Spanish highly desired
* Writing or translation experience desired
* Professional both in attitude and appearance
* Able to handle multiple tasks at once
* Enthusiasm for lesson planning and activity sharing
* Intermediate to advanced computer skills
