| Job Description: |
An overview of the position is below:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day internal audit function of the organization.
Reviews audit schedules to ensure that each area of the Company is audited timely; initiates spot audits when necessary.
Determines if the system of authorization and recording procedures are adequate to provide reasonable accounting control over assets, liabilities, income and expenses.
Oversees the coordination of the year-end review by the external auditors, including retests.
Prepares reports of all work done and submits to Senior Management for review, follow-up and recommendations for action.
Reviews pertinent documents necessary to determine if an audit trail exists for all records and systems.
Exercises the usual authority of a departmental manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.

| Skills Required: |
Requirements
Professional Experience: 5 years or more experience and/or formal training in accounting, auditing, and regulatory compliance and reporting.
Relevant Audit Experience: Internal audit at a publicly held company
A bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized accredited university.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Requires appropriate interpersonal skills.
Thorough knowledge of accounting practices/procedures.
Proven investigative skills.
Designation as a CPA and/or CIA required.
An understanding of, and adherence to, the Auditors Code of Ethics and the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as developed by the Institute of Auditors.
Full understanding of the COSO model for internal controls and applying these standards in the analysis and evaluation of internal audit and Sarbanes-Oxley testing results.
Knowledge of and experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance considered a plus.
