Technical Translator - French
French!
1. To translate and edit texts in a variety of subjects and formats according to customer specifications, using a range of CAT tools.
2. To develop language resources.
3. To assist in the training of new and existing language staff.
Principle Responsibilities
1. To translate, edit and proof documents according to guidelines specified for each job, ensuring high production standards are maintained.
2. To meet deadlines specified by the Language Services Manager/Project Manager, and inform him/her when and why delays occur.
3. To maintain expert user knowledge of CAT tools and software localisation project requirements.
4. To evaluate jobs and draft job-specific guidelines for use by Language and PM.
5. To provide input into Language SOPs, checklists, specs and reference material for use by the Language and DTP department.
4. To liaise with the Language Services Manager over deadlines and queries.
5. To provide on-the-job training to the Language department as necessary.
6. To liaise with Senior Editors, Coordinators and PMs over terminological and language queries.
7. To communicate with other Language departments, sharing resources and information.
8. To perform any other Language related duties assigned by the Language Services Manager.
