Description of Position:
The individual designs, formulates plans and supervises construction projects. At this level, the individual has a working knowledge of all in-house and industry standard computer programs that are used daily to facilitate the required design and documentation of projects. In addition, the individual is also responsible for assistance in cost and personnel estimating as well as proposal preparation. The individual has many opportunities to supervise the work of younger engineers and participates in project staffing discussions.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
I.Engineering Skills
a.Effectively identifies project issues.
b.Solves problems with the aid of established internal guidelines and approved design programs.
c.Instrumental in developing a project’s Design Criteria and has the major role in its project implementation.
d.Supervises analyses and design with little direction.
e.Extensive knowledge of model design codes.
f.Thoroughly and efficiently organizes material for review by Supervisor.
g.Performs accurate checking of project documentation.
II.Client/Communications Skills
a.Clearly articulates information to Supervisors and Clients.
b.Writes clear correspondence for project publication.
c.Leads and supervises the internal project team.
d.Seen as a valuable office contributor and leader.
e.Understands Client/Firm relationship and all interactions with clients are positive and respectful.
f.Provides valuable input to Supervisors to maintain and cultivate Client’s relationship.
III.Business Development and Revenue Generation
a.Contributes to Business Development efforts through strong, positive client relationships.
b.Well aware of Firm’s project financial reports.
c.Provides input concerning project budgeting and collections.
d.Intimately aware of specific project scope, contracts and related subjects.
e.Accurately charges own labor to proper project numbers and ensures this accuracy for other staff on the project.
IV.Teamwork and Leadership
a.Individual commands leadership, respect and strongly contributes to project team and inter-office issues.
b.Brings many positive skills and experiences to their project team.
c.Helps train other team members.
d.Seen the daily leader of the project team.
e.Cares for the success of the project and volunteers to work the hours necessary for project completion.

Skills Required:: |
Required:
A. 7 - 12 years of experience in the field of structural engineering
B. BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
C. PE license required
D. Experience in the design and analysis of all facets of new steel and concrete high-rise structures
E. Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, AutoCad and PCA software a plus.
F. Strong verbal and written communications skills
G. Detail oriented with strong people and team skills
Desired:
MS in Structural, Architectural or Civil Engineering
