| Job Description: |
Position Goal:
Drive activities on the Surfscan product lines with an emphasis on optics and Opto-mechanical design
and characterization. This includes an in-depth understanding of optical, mechanical, electrical, and software
components involved in the design and development of optical-based, wafer inspection, semiconductor
inspection equipment.
As a Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects
ranging from continuous improvement projects on current products to supporting manufacturing operations, as
well as contribute on new development projects. This position provides great visibility to all projects, groups,
challenges, and opportunities within the Surfscan team.
Description of Duties:
1. The candidate must have experience in
champion his/her technical solutions. This
needed.
2. Provide feedback on design changes by
E.E., and S/W Eng.) to influence design
products.
3. Take lead role on many projects to define,
completion or problem resolution. Develop
methods and modeling.
4. Solve complex system interaction issues
with little or no guidance.
5. Provide fly and fix support on field escalations
design know-how on the product. Travel
internationally.
6. Support beta testing at customer sites. |
| Skills Required: |
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Optical, or Electrical
Engineering and 5 or more years in optical instrumentation design and characterization.
Candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills (technical/non-technical), analytical
problem-solving. Experience in semiconductor or capital equipment and project management is
a plus. Experience with opto-mechanical design is also a plus
Other Requirements:
Systems Engineers require a good combination of practical hands-on skills and system level
thinking. Additionally, strong analytical skills are required to set up experiments and perform
data analysis. The candidate will need to have worked on complex optical instrumentations and
optical assemblies with a proven track record of success. Hands-on experience on laser-based
optical systems and experience of using optics simulation tools (ZIMAX, Code V or other tools)
are required. Candidates with UV photo-contamination experience and opto-mechanical design
experience are highly desirable. The candidate will need to multitask, function independently,
and be a motivated team member working within a team of multidisciplinary engineers. Other
activities will include reviewing marketing requirements, developing system critical design
specifications, and designing test methods. Strong written and verbal communications skills are
an absolute requirement. |
