Summary of Responsibilities for Financial Services Representative (FSR)
FSRs are responsible for the marketing and sale of MetLife products, including life insurance, disability insurance, annuities, mutual funds, property and casualty, and small business products. FSRs are also responsible for meeting the service needs of customers/policyholders.
Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for the appropriateness of all products sold to customers.
Prepare a business plan establishing goals and plans/activities for achieving those goals.
Prepare individual marketing plan.
Perform prospecting activities to acquire new clients.
Conduct needs analyses to determine clients financial and insurance needs and design an insurance program for the client.
Make sales presentations, including options, to clients to obtain a commitment to purchase.
Provide front line underwriting services for the Company.
Deliver policies in accordance with Company guidelines; establish relationships with customers to service their needs in a timely and efficient manner.
Attend Agency/unit sales meetings and required training sessions.
Maintain contact with policyholders.
Meet activity standards.
Participate in individual sales planning conferences (ISPCs).
Required Competencies
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Professional or technical knowledge, however acquired.
Licenses necessary to sell MetLife products and services.
NASD registration (Series 6; Series 63 where required by state).
Business ethics and integrity.

Honesty and integrity
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Goal oriented and possesses a track record of success in school, business, volunteer work, etc.
Understand and effectively explain complex information in simple, easy to understand terms.
