| Job Description: |
The Campbell-Lange Workshop is looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals with a real desire to learn and a willingness to tackle challenges in an IT environment.
Candidates will not necessarily need experience of working within the IT sector but must be able to demonstrate familiarity and confidence in dealing with computers. There will be extensive on-the-job training and an expectation that the successful candidate will pick up the relevant skills and knowledge quickly in order to carry the duties of the job and become an integral part of our team. The initial period of work will be intensive but rewarding - expect to work hard and learn a lot!
We provide in-house support services for several high profile design firms based in Central London and members of the team are expected to become familiar with the set up, issues and staff members at each of these. We support multiple platforms (Mac, Windows and Linux) although our emphasis is on open source solutions with the majority of our servers running on Linux. Expect to become proficient in managed networking and routing, Linux server configuration and maintenance, SQL, and Mac and Windows desktop support.
In addition to the technical aspects of the job, members of the team are also expected to develop their communication skills as good customer service is a priority. Strong written and spoken English are essential.
We are very interested in our team's development and in addition to the continual learning inherent in the role we schedule regular time for each member of the team to work on personal projects and focus on specific areas of interest.
The position offers a starting salary of 17500 per year with a rise to 18500 at the successful completion of a 2 month trial period. Further salary raises may be awarded for reaching agreed personal development targets.
