Role
Manage all elements of the construction of Iron & Steel projects
Tasks
At the proposal stage develop the construction philosophy / construction methodology.
Estimation of construction costs (structural / mechanical) for the overall project estimate based on in house estimates or quotations from selected tenderers.
Preparation of construction enquiries, bid analysis and organise bidders site visits.
Construction programme development
Estimation of supervisory site manning requirements.
Prepare contract order documentation.
Planning, co-ordination and organisation of construction activities prior to the commencement of site work or the appointment of a site manager
Carry out risk assessments and develop the construction site health and safety plan (CDM Regulations)
Prepare safety and work method statements
Prepare equipment installation procedures
Site management / supervision if required
Education / Knowledge
Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
Essential
Experience in the use of spreadsheets
Experience of construction management, including on site
Experience of site supervision and installation
Experience of Site Health and Safety requirements
Experience of construction programming ( Microsoft Project)
Experience of erection methods and techniques
Desirable
Knowledge of relevant technology and product within the Iron and Steel Industry.
Experience as part of a successful project team
