Business Overview

The Stockton-on-Tees based Iron & Steel Division is the worldwide competence centre for Ironmaking within the Siemens organisation.
Role
To liaise with engineering and procurement to produce plans and reports for project execution programmes
Tasks
To liaise with Engineering, Procurement and Sales to produce agreed programmes for submission with proposal documentation.
To develop detailed Project execution programmes from proposal programmes to meet the requirements of Project Managers and Clients.
To produce from the programme reporting tools and schedules to satisfy the needs of the Projects. These include S Curves, Histograms, Gantt Charts and Tabular reports.
Use updated programme to model What if scenarios to suggest methods of recovering delays.
Monitor agreed project milestones Identify and highlight factors threatening project success.
To liaise with Engineering, Procurement and Shipping to produce regular and accurate progress reports identifying as early as possible any variance to programme.
To attend Project Review and Progress meetings and to report on progress at these meetings. Some of these meetings may be held at Client premises and some travel may be involved.
When required, to assist with expediting of suppliers to ensure timely delivery of Project materials.
When required, to liaise with Construction staff to produce detailed installation programmes. Planning engineers may be required to work at Client Site during the installation phase of a Project in order to co-ordinate site activities and to monitor installation progress
Education / Knowledge
Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Computer literate including Microsoft Projects and ideally Primavera
Experience
Essential
Experience in developing and reporting against agreed project execution plans
Desirable
Experience in Iron & Steel Industry

Current passport
Able to travel both nationally and internationally, possibly at short notice
