Position Overview
The Sales Principal will be responsible for increasing the client account base and growing sales revenues. As a member of management, the Sales Principal will join a highly intelligent, creative, vibrant and committed group of talented professionals. We are seeking a “hunger” and rainmaker.
Key Accountabilities
o Develop client acquisition strategy and target lists within each category in alignment with corporate business plan and mission
o Through professional networking, current contact network, research, and other sales methodologies introduce the firm to target companies
o Assess client needs and recommend consultative solutions in a complex sales process, targeting the CMO/VP Marketing and/or President/CEO
o Develop and maintain client relationships and knowledge sharing with internal colleagues and higher level firm management
o Prepare client proposals
o Close business and help transition client relationships to the Consulting/Strategist Team
o Participate in key client facing meetings, phone calls, and strategy sessions; act as “strategic thought partner” to the client Consulting/Strategist Team
o Meet targeted sales and revenue goals
o Must be able to travel approximately 40%

| Skills Required: |
o Must be a high end, solution-focused consultative selling “star” with proven experience selling $350k to 1M projects to C levels of Fortune 500 firms.
o Must have hands-on, documented history of successful track record increasing client accounts and sales revenue for such firms as advertising agency, market research firm, or consulting firm while in a business development/sales role.
o Must be motivated by selling, building a business, and consumer marketing
o Must have consumer marketing related experience; with consumer trend knowledge, a plus
o MBA preferred
o Must be willing and ready to demonstrate high level of commitment to organization
o Should be intellectually curious, think fast on feet, be flexible vs. rigid, tend not to get “ruffled” easily; and have a good sense of humor
o Be able to craft written client proposals (writing sample required) with superior verbal and “C” level, overall presentation; foster immediate credibility
o Obviously, working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Prefer candidates who live in the tri-state NY area. Compensation will include annual salary plus commission structure and bonus eligibility
