Position Description:
The SDA is responsible for the analysis and design of the mainframe application using Ford's methodology. Strong conceptual design skills are a must and automotive experience is a plus. Key responsibilities include: -Produce design models supporting all stages of delivery of a new application -Ability to apply application design concepts for a cross platform solution -Working closely with data architect, DBA, and application architect, as required, for application design -Supporting lead developers in construction and unit test processes -Ensuring all design, configuration, and application change management issues are addressed -Coordinating with Program Architecture Team to resolve design and architecture issues that may arise -Must ensure compliance with all corporate and program level standards -Achieving alignment among fellow SDA colleagues -Responsible for escalating to release manager where support required. Responsible for creation of the following artifacts / deliverables: -Batch Shell -Implementation component diagram -Software configuration management plan -Application architecture documentation -Data conversion strategy
Skills Required:
System Design Analyst needs to have 6+ years working in all disciplines of IT with 3+ years experience in designing and implementing solutions. Work experience must be in IT covering new development, enhancements and production support roles. Additionally candidates must have led a team in the design of new application at least once. Experience with complex, large, multi-platform solutions is a strong plus. Prefer experience in automotive manufacturing area. Need to have strong Innovation and Technical Excellence, and communication skills. -Mainframe Bmp And Mpp -cobol -db2 zOS Stored Procedures -Object Oriented Analysis and Design

Experience Preferred:
-Mainframe to J2EE integration experience -Rational Xde -j2ee -ford Unified SDM experience -Large program experience Needs to be able to operate with minimal supervision and escalate issues, when appropriate. Working environment/Contact with teams: -Will need to interface closely with other SDAs, business analysts, architects, DA/DBA 's, lead developers and testers to understand requirements, identify solutions and resolve issues. -Will also need to work across several other internal teams to ensure interfaces and/or integration points are well coordinated. -May be required to work weekends, provide off-hour support, and/or carry pagers.
Education Required:
BS. In computer science or equivalent exp in requested areas.
