| Job Description: |
Under the direction of the Vice President/COO, this position calls for a hands-on, detail-oriented Science Manager, with excellent communication skills for a well known international, Japanese brand name company currently experiencing rapid expansion/growth in the U.S. Market.
Responsibilities:
Develop relationships within the scientific field (US researchers, scientists, doctors, dieticians etc.)
Create supporting key opinion leaders
Participate in medical/scientific conference and symposiums
Develop contacts with industrial organization, medical society and probiotics association
(ISAPP, IPA, IDFA, California Dairy Institute, etc.)
Educate/spread science and probiotics policy
Lecture/speech at scientific events (medical conferences, industrial meetings, medical facilities, educational facilities, institutes, etc.)
Write articles/reports and interview with various journals
Conduct/coordinate clinical research (LcS clinical studies through universities, institute, etc)
Participate on research institute project (TBD)
Manage scientific regulatory issues
Regulatory update (health claim issues)
Creating LcS health claim (structure/function claim)
Support scientific issues for all departments
Write/review/edit all scientific issues for company brochures, websites, press release, marketing materials, etc.
Scientific PR activity support (media and journal contact, medical exhibition booth, etc)
Help answer medical and science related customer inquiries
Requirements:
PHD in Microbiology
5-10 years of experience in the scientific field
Background in functional foods a plus
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
Willingness to travel
Media savvy is a plus
Flexibility, as business needs may change
Ability to work as part of team and independently
***This is NOT a research laboratory position. Candidates MUST have a background in functional foods or neutraceuticals to be considered for this opportunity.
