Tower Riggers / Field Technicians
Job Purpose:
This position requires a person with experience in the communication tower business. They are able to perform all general ground procedures associated with the installation of a communication tower. They have proven capabilities to work freely and safely on small and medium sized towers incorporating fall protection practices and proper use of personal safety equipment. They are able to install various antenna and transmission lines along with ancillary equipment on communication structures. We are looking for Tower Riggers at our locations across Canada, including Langley B.C., Nisku AB, Saskatoon SK, Winnipeg MB, Oakville ON, St. Hubert QC, Truro NS.
Responsibilities:
1. Proper inspection and use of personal safety equipment.
2. Identify and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved.
3. Sort material when it arrives on site to ensure that no material is missing.
4. Set up anchors for the guy wires and have them ready to pull the guys up to tension.
5. Work with communications tower structural steel and properly bolt connections.
6. Be familiar with ginpole working procedures.
7. Install various antenna mounts.
8. Perform plumb and tension.
9. Install various antenna and transmission line systems.
10. Install various ancillary items on a communication tower.
11. The ability to give direction to Crane Operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure the safety of others and material handled.
12. Identify, inspect and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved.

Skills Required:: |
Familiar with tower erection, antenna and transmission line systems.
Working knowledge of installation practices and requirements.
Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
Working knowledge of fall protection practices and procedures.
Comfortable working at heights.
Valid Drivers License
Heavy lifting, manual dexterity and proficient use of installation tools are required.
