Job Title: Mentor
Department: Knowledge Team
Job Summary:
Mentoring up to ten mentees through the EQmentor mentoring process. To be certified, mentors must read the EQmentor Body of Knowledge (BOK), and complete an exam based on that BOK. Following the exam, mentors work in a simulated environment. At the end of the simulation, the EQmentor Knowledge Team then determines if they are certified or not. If they are certified, they are assigned mentees and a master mentor, who oversees their work.
Mentors primarily work with mentees, acting as :
listeners;
facilitators for learning;
encouragers;
motivators;
role models.
Responsibilities:
Provide help, support, and guidance that helps the mentee develop necessary skills.
Interact with each mentee at least three times a week, in order to grow and develop the mentees skills.
Adhere to the EQmentor Honor Code and User Agreement.
Request assistance from Master Mentors as needed.
Facilitate one chat discussion per month.
Contribute to the EQvillage as needed.
Be able to use effective mentoring procedures including:
Diagnosing and assessing mentee needs
Setting realistic goals
Using clear communication skills in the web tool
Facilitating learning and development
Using the QUEST model
Adjusting learning for individual differences

Skills Required:: |
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years mentoring or coaching experience.
University degree in industrial/organizational psychology, organization development, human resources, training, or other related field (or equivalent experience).
Advanced knowledge of mentoring industry and best practices.
Ability to present new opportunities and challenges for additional development.
Skill in verbal and written communication to analyze, interpret and address mentee needs.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of mentees.
Ability to work with minimal guidance in a time-critical environment.
