Senior User Researcher and Project Manager
Curious about people, Creative, Smart & Quick – and Organized?
If this describes you read on…
· Do you understand people?
· Are you curious about seeing how people work, and then designing technology solutions that help them to work better?
· Do you enjoy technology? Do you wish that software would work the way you want it to?
· Does working in a team-based, collaborative environment interest you?
· Do you enjoy travel?
· Does finding the right piece to a puzzle bring you satisfaction?
Our client is looking for candidates who answered yes to the above. Our customer centered team-based approach is the framework for designing technology applications, websites, internal systems, and more for their clients. Contextual Design is their front-end, customer-centered design methodology used and taught world-wide.
Individuals receive the training and mentoring to excel as a Senior Work Practice Designer (User Researcher) participating in the full design process — from ethnographic field interviews to interaction design. Being a part of this innovative, disciplined process provides skills and training that our employees believe to be invaluable — and produces best-in-class designs for clients.
Senior user researchers will participate fully in all phases of the Contextual Design process, including field interviews with end users, data interpretation and modeling, visioning new concepts, storyboarding, paper prototyping and deliverable creation. They must also be systemic thinkers: able to see the design implications implied by the existing work practice and envision new solutions that will improve the user’s experience while meeting the business needs of the clients.
Our client wants to expand its experienced staff to find candidates who may become part of the project management team that oversees the quality and success of project work and interfaces with the client. Candidates hired now have the opportunity to advance to become part of the project management team within a year.
Candidates who have a background in the social sciences, technical writing, human-computer interaction, information systems, user research or other related fields are ideal candidates for this position. Or perhaps you are a product manager, program manager, team lead, business analyst or software engineer who wants to work in a small company environment and focus on designing products that are driven by actually face-to face customer research.
This position is ideal for someone with a relevant Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience — or Masters or PhD with 4 years experience — and who are looking to expand their horizons by performing in a fast-paced, consulting environment
