| Job Description: |
The General Merchandise Manager plans, directs and controls the selection and buy of merchandise. They are responsible for the development of a seasonal and annual merchandise strategy (by door), including merchandise assortment, sales planning, promotional cadence and pricing.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
-develop and execute strategic buying and merchandising objectives to achieve Company sales and profit goals.
-Directs assortment selection processes and reviews these for balance and adherence to strategic and financial objectives.
-Management of inventory to maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn.
-Provide accurate and timely financial management information including reports that summarize business activity and financial position in areas of sales and customer buying trends.
-Review statistical sales data defining sales, promotions and inventory to determine recommendations for key actions needed to maximize sales and profits.
-Responsible for overall leadership as it relates to trend direction, competition and market share.
-Apply client insight and brand direction into the buy assortment.
-Consistently focuses self and team to produce results by leveraging resources, maintaining tough expense control, and managing key initiatives effectively.
-Provides strategic direction in matters of merchandising.
-Develop long-term, close relationships with the Design team that endorse and enhance the Company's customer service focus, and support overall growth of the business.

-Motivate, manage and develop the team of buyers for Boutiques and Company Stores.

-Adhere to local, state and federal laws

-demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with business partners, team, peers, and management.
-Demonstrates proper etiquette when communicating with internal and external clients (i.E. In-person, phone, e-mail, and written communication).
-Communicates effectively and with a global perspective; develops and maintains professional relationships.

Skills Required:: |
Skills/Education/Experience:
-At least 10 years of merchandise buying and planning experience (at least half in apparel) in the Retail industry
-Bachelor's degree, preferably in fashion merchandising or business, required
-NSB, Movex, Crystal and Book |
