| Job Description: |
The Eisenhower Medical Center in Fort Gordon, GA is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
This candidate will prepare progressive treatment using Occupational Therapy modalities. Extensive use of judgment and optimum observation and treatment skills are needed to treat patients assigned to the assistant.
Such diagnoses would include; patient with herniplegia, paraplegia, cerebral vascular accidents other neurological disorders, severely involved orthopedic patients, burn patients, pediatric patients, etc.
The COTA will make recommendations and utilize the various modalities of occupational therapy as prescribed to include; electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise.
Teaches the patients, families and other health workers to perform selected treatment procedures and functional training activities. Evaluates and recommends equipment changes in bracing, use of crutches and canes, wheelchair accessories, etc.
Prepares patient progress reports and administrative reports. Attends staff meetings and in-service training programs. Assists supervisor in decisions relative to administrative responsibilities in the area of supply, Surgical Care Line, Occupational Therapy Clinic.

Skills Required:: |
Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (both pediatric and adult). Must be a graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy education program and completed fieldwork requirement.
Must be board certified, state license and Physical Agent modalities certification required. A valid license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. This license does not have to be from the state in which Occupational Therapy Assistant is practicing under this contract.
This a five (5) year contract. The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm. No nights, weekends, holidays, or call. Ten paid holidays, 5 vacation and 5 personal days. We offer a competitive salary and full comprehensive benefits.
